"The Newton House Museum is housed in a restored two-story Quaker home of the mid 1800s. It allows visitors to view the quality and style of life lived over 100 years ago. It features a herb garden and one of the last remaining virgin stands of black walnut timber-land in the state. The museum is open to the public on the first Sunday of the month, May - December, from 1pm- 4pm, or by appointment. Day Trips include winery tours around Southwest Michigan, Warren Dunes State Park & Beach, Fernwood Botanical Gardens, and the Kalamazoo Air Museum Doe-Wah-Jack's Canoe Rental Two to six hour beginner and intermediate canoe and kayak trips on Dowagiac River. Open weekends May 1, everyday starting Memorial day through Labor day, weekends through the end of September. Before and after season hours by appointment.
